About

The person behind the method.

Programme Type comes out of twenty years spent on a single question: why do capable people keep running patterns they never chose?

Yousuf Aslam is a cognitive neuroscientist and the author of Unprogrammed. For two decades he has studied how early experience wires the adult brain, and worked to turn that science into something people can use on themselves rather than just read about.

Across that time he has studied, trained and researched with more than three and a half thousand people, and built RESETS, a method for changing the patterns that sit underneath behaviour. Programme Type is the front door to that work: a way to see the pattern you have been running, and to understand where it began.

Most personality tools tell you what you are like. Yousuf wanted to build one that tells you why, traced back to the early life that shaped it, because a pattern you cannot see is a pattern you cannot change. Programme Type is designed to be specific enough to be genuinely useful, and honest enough to be trusted.

The idea underneath all of it is simple. The way you operate now is not a flaw in you. It is a programme you built, often very young, to get through what you were in. What was learned can be understood, and what is understood can be changed.

This is serious work built on real science, and it is clear about its limits. It is a guide to self-understanding, not a diagnosis or a substitute for professional care.
