Terms of Service

These terms are a contract between you and Yousuf Aslam Ltd, trading as Pattern Type ("Pattern Type", "we", "us", "our"). By using the site or buying anything from us, you agree to them. Please read them carefully. If anything is unclear, email us at team@yousufaslam.com before you continue.

Who we are

Pattern Type is a trading name of Yousuf Aslam Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales. Company number: 16804539. Registered office: 124 City Road, London, EC1V 2NX. For anything relating to these terms, contact team@yousufaslam.com.

The service

Pattern Type offers a short online assessment about your upbringing and, from your answers, generates a written reading of the pattern we call your Pattern Type. There are three parts to what we offer. The Deep Map report, previously sold on its own for £29, is no longer available; the written deep material is now sold as the Deep Report at £19.

• Your Pattern Type and reading (free). After you complete the assessment and confirm your name and email address, we name your Pattern Type and give you a written reading at no cost.
• The Deep Report (£19). A one-off purchase: the full chapter by chapter report written from your answers, delivered immediately after payment. Because it is delivered straight away you are asked to confirm you want immediate delivery before you pay.
• Unprogrammed membership (£49 a month). An ongoing membership giving access to the members' platform and its material. It is a rolling monthly subscription that you can cancel at any time, and it carries a 14-day loved-or-refunded guarantee.
• RESETS membership. An ongoing pattern run separately by the RESETS team. Where we link to it from Pattern Type, your relationship for that membership is with the RESETS provider on their own terms and pricing.

Pattern Type is a tool for self-understanding and reflection. It does not provide therapy, counselling, diagnosis, or medical or psychological treatment, and using it does not create a clinical or professional relationship. It is not a substitute for advice from a qualified doctor, therapist or mental health professional. If you have concerns about your mental health, please speak to one. Who can use it

You must be 18 or over to use Pattern Type. By using the service you confirm you are.

Your details

You agree to give accurate details so we can deliver your results and, where relevant, take payment and provide support. If your email address is wrong we cannot deliver your reading.

Payments

Your Pattern Type and your reading are free. The Deep Report is a one-off £19 including any applicable VAT. Membership is £49 a month including any applicable VAT, charged on a rolling basis until you cancel. Where a complimentary code applies, access is given at no charge and no payment is taken. The Deep Map report is no longer sold separately; purchases made before it was withdrawn are honoured on their original terms and access is unaffected. Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not see or store your full card details. Prices are shown at checkout in pounds sterling.

Acceptable use

You agree not to misuse the service, attempt to disrupt or interfere with it, submit deliberately false answers to abuse our systems, or copy, resell, republish or redistribute our content, prompts, framework or software.

Intellectual property

The Pattern Type system, the underlying framework, the type catalogue, the assessment, the prompts, the site design and the software are owned by Yousuf Aslam Ltd. Your personal reading, any Deep Map report you hold, and membership material are licensed to you for your own personal, non-commercial use. You may keep them, print them and share them with people close to you. You may not resell them, publish them as your own, or use them to train any machine-learning model.

No guarantees

We work hard to make your reading accurate and useful, but we cannot guarantee any particular result or outcome. The service is provided "as is" and "as available".

Our liability

Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot be limited by law, including for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud. Subject to that, we are not liable for indirect, special or unforeseeable losses, and our total liability to you for any claim connected with the service is limited to the amount you have paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose. Nothing here affects your statutory rights as a consumer.

Refunds and cancellation

Membership carries a 14-day loved-or-refunded guarantee and can be cancelled at any time. Deep Map reports bought before that product was withdrawn remain subject to the 14-day guarantee that applied at the time of purchase. Our full policy is set out in our Refunds policy.

Reports delivered straight away

A paid report is digital content that is delivered immediately after payment. By buying it you ask us to begin delivery at once and you accept that, once it has been delivered, the statutory 14-day right to cancel no longer applies. This does not affect our own 14-day guarantee, which still applies to every paid report, and it does not affect any other statutory right you have if something is wrong with what we supplied.

Buying a report also means we will email you the report itself and the short sequence that follows it. You can stop those emails at any time using the unsubscribe link in any of them, or by emailing team@programmetype.com.

Ending your use

You can stop using the service at any time. We may suspend or end access if these terms are broken, or if we reasonably need to for legal, security or operational reasons.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. If we do, we will change the "Last updated" date above. Material changes will be highlighted where reasonable. Your continued use of the service after a change means you accept the updated terms.

Governing law

These terms and any dispute or claim arising out of them are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.
